    Help????

Hi i need some help with ebay:

I sold an item but i only stated postage to UK.

Someone from the USA has won the auction but i dont want to post the item there!

Am i within my rights to cancel his bid and offer second chance offer to the second highest bidder?

Ive sent the guy in the USA a message saying that i dont post to the USA and that that is obvious from the post.

Any help would be much appreicated!

Yeh because if you've stated that you only post to the UK, then you only post to the UK. Whats the item number? I'll have a look to double check for you if you wish.

Let me know - i didt say that i only post to the UK but the only postage options are to the UK...i would say that that makes it obvious really..

You clearly state uk. So offer it to the next highest bidder or re-list.

To me that sounds like you are just sending it to the UK. But some may argue that you haven't classed it as "ONLY" to the UK, and not elseware, although I don't think you can do that. So you should be fine in my eyes. Rather get a third or fourth opinion though than rely on mine.

The second highest bidder seems sound so I would offer it to them.

prissymiss did u look at the post? I say this because i didnt state UK as such but only offered postage options to the UK

Im a bit worried about getting in trouble!!

Thank you for replying btw i really appreciate it!

Private feedback, registered today, sounds well dodgy to me
    I think it's a scammer
Contact ebay say you have "concerns"

You only stated the UK so thats the only place your going to post to.

If you click "Show all available" on the top down box, only the United Kingdom opens. Your fine, you won't get in trouble.

You stated uk postage fees only. If you send the guy in the US an e-mail stating huge postage costs, I can't seen him being bothered with it. Plus his feedback is private which I never trust.

Just e-mail a large postage and see what he says.

Nor me, can't get more dodgey.

No, sorry, i'd not make any more contact with the buyer
Just send an email to ebay and wait would be what i'd say

Worse that can happen is a negative feedback which i am sure they'd strike off.

This just sounds like an accident waitin' to happen.....

Go in to your seller preferences and set it up so that in future, if someone is not from a country you post to (in this case UK) they physically won't be able to bid.

my ebay > my account > preferences > selling prefs > buyer requirements > tick 'Block buyers who are registered in countries to which I don't ship.'

As far as I am aware that's the only way you can make it 'official' that someone outside the UK shouldn't bid, but not 100% certain on that. But as this person looks suspicious any way, I wouldn't worry about it and just cancel/send 2nd chance offer as others have suggested.

But it still lets people bid as eBay haven't got their site set up right. :x

Does it really? I've always had that option set that way and never had any one who shouldn't bid, have I just been lucky?

    Crazy stuff.
