    Help & Advice Please from anyone who is good in the kitchen !

    I bought a breadmaker a couple of weeks ago from Amazon and its great but i have two problems - i am having a nightmare with flour going everywhere when my little 'helpers' help put the flour in the machine or scales & i am unsure of the best way to store the bread. I wondered if anyone else had these problems and how you sorted them !

    I think i need somesort of container to empty the flour bags into - am i better with a cannister, does it need to be airtight, would a plastic thing be better?

    Anyone seen anything - I am on the Isle of Man so there is no Asda near me and although we have a Tesco it is really food only - so it would need to be a general store or Amazon, John Lewis, Debenhams etc - or an idea for me to look for would be great.

    The bread tastes lovely - but just putting it in the bread bin doesn't keep i fresh - at the moment i am wrapping it in tin foil - but am going through it like no ones business - so whatdoes everyone else do - would it sweat in an airtight container?

    I am sorry to be so dopey - just after some help from someone else who has solved these problems already !

    Off to hoover now - and will look again in half an hour - rep left for any helpful replies.

    I leave my flour in the flour bag just fold the top over a few times an secure with a cloths peg.
    I find the bread lasts longer and tastes better if u use dough improver, i got mine from ebay.
    I store the bread ones its made and cold in an empty sliced loaf bag.
    get ur little helpers to measure it out into a bigger bowl 1st then u tip it into the machine, or just take the bread pan out onto a work surface and measure into it there.

    I keep the bread in empty carrier bags from the supermarket, we put the bread in and then fold the bag over

    Mine never last that long as my husband will quite happily eat a full loaf over a day. And he is like a stick but must work very hard at work to burn it off or so he tells me.

    [FONT=Arial]Depends on how quickly you use the flour. I use straight from bag and just clear up spillage later.[/FONT]

    [FONT=Arial]I use large freezer bags but like other replies, it doesn't last long enough to be a problem[/FONT]

    [FONT=Arial]BTW. To get best value from your efforts use your breadmaker to make stuff that normally costs a fortune in supermarkets eg rosemary focaccia or tomato and red onion tear and share bread.[/FONT]
    [FONT=Arial]Or use just the dough setting to get dough that you can make into small rolls that you can sprinkle with poppy seeds, sunflower seeds etc before letting them rise and bake in oven.[/FONT]

    I got a cheapo Cookworks years ago. Pretty basic but reliable. Used 3-4 times a week including with timer so that bread bakes overnight and is still warm when you come down in the morning - loooovely!

    i got mine for £10 last new yrs from superdrug..

    Hi, its been fab !

    I live on the Isle of Man so we don't get cheap bread in our shops becasue they regulate what shops are allowed to sell in respect of some things to help local producers - the cheapest loaf even in Tesco is over £1 - so it (hopefully) will make a big difference to my shopping bill - that said we seem to be eating loads more of it !

    I was looking and reading up about them in reviews for a while and everyone seemed to say panasonic was a good make. I got mine on Amazon for £80. They have a cheaper version which was £10 less, but you can add things to the bread with this one so i paid the extra.

    After the first couple of times it became really easy - fast to do and very tasty. I set it on timer at ight - and its ready in the morning - well worth it in my opinion !:thumbsup:

    I'm looking at one as well and everyone recommends the Panasonic SD254/5 but there is Which? recommended one from Morphy Richards on offer on their site at better prices than Amazon.
