quite vague, is it a dvd rip, Avi files, or none of the above

Is it in a AVI file? Rougly 700mb? Then you will need to convert it and there is a good programme called ConvertXtoDVD which will be availble from there!! It will burn it on DVD for you!!

    dvdrip

then it should be an iso file me thinks, i use img burn for these files but I think you can use nero too

Nero really good or theirs that other programme which lets you open iso without having to burn them but the name aint coming to my head!!!

    Heres one:

just thought some dvd rips that can be acquired may be downloaded as seperate vob files which you would have to build an iso with first, again would suggest img burn for this

if its a dvd rip then it will be a avi file...you can view these on a pc no problem but if you inteend to watch it on a dvd player then it will need converting a good app is convertxtodvd

If it is dvdrip, the just record it with Nero as data disc, but you can watch it on dvd player only if it plays divx format. You can convert it with Nero Vision to dvd format(takes 30mins to 1:30 h,depends on cpu)and play on any dvd player.

winavi is much faster and converting a single film to dvd. but if you want to put a couple of films onto dvd i would agree about convertxtodvd
