Help and advice needed for a laptop for basic video editing - £350 max realistic?

Found 20th Apr

I don't use a laptop any more as all my family use tablets but I want to remake our wedding video which we lost from 20 years ago. I've got all the original footage on DVD but want to do basic editing (fade in, fade out, a bit of text, audio/soundtracks added etc - nothing too fancy) and don't want to spend out too much on an expensive laptop that I won't use much after.

Couldanyone please advise me on any laptops or what type of processor chips, RAM etc I'd be looking for? Any help would be so gratefully received.

Thank you for looking.

An i3 laptop will handle basic editing like that for one video.

You don't need a fancy laptop to edit one video that's not 4K etc.

I'd go with an i3 and 8GB of ram. SSD would help but not sure you can get it for £350. Forget about finding anything with a dedicated graphic card for that budget but really you don't need it for editing one video.
hearts22, thank you so much for your help. That's fantastic advice.
