DIgital photo frame went down well for mine at Christmas.

nice meal out and some flowers:thumbsup:

make a basket up of all little things you know are her favourite, can be silly things like a mars bar or even a can of soup, or maybe something that reminds you of a childhood memory she will also remember. You get points for thought with mums.

a pamper day - that is a present that is just for her

I bought my father tickets to see Celine Dion last xmas and he said it was the best present ever - so how about her favorite singer/group.
I've also bought spa days for my mum which went down really well, provided you go with her to have a girlie afternoon.
I don't know about everyone else but I think when you get to 51 you have got everything you want in the 'pressie' price bracket so experiences or things you think are overpriced are always nice

    :giggle: lol.

If you live within reach of Brighton, try the personalised perfume service at Pecksniff's.

If you get it right (and it's hard not to) she will have a new, unique perfume for life and will remember the experience (and you) every time she wears it (usually special occasions). I arranged this as a surprise treat for my partner, and the brownie points are still rolling in.

If you can't make Brighton, the same service is offered elsewhere but usually only to groups of 10 or so (hen nights, typically). Try searching the web for "make your own perfume" and similar.

On the down side, you might get a slap from your Mum for thinking she smells bad.

    Good luck.

    p.s. It IS expensive!

how about a magazine subscription ?
