Help buying a Dell PC please

Not ordered a Dell before and although I've searched deals I'm not sure if this PC that I customised below is good value or not.

Important things the PC will need in this order
Windows XP - not Vista as its for my parents and I dont know my way around Vista
    Firewire connection for video editing
Decent size screen 19" or above
Large Hard drive for video editing/viewing

Here is the one I customised and coming out at £440 is this good?

Vista is no worse than XP - no better either.

Don't take too much notice of the XP dinosaurs - if you can use XP, you can use Vista. If price is the same go for the one you like but don't pay extra for XP.

This is what I dont like about Dell in that its so easy to get blinded adding little bits on. I will try again to get the above price or is there a code I can put in to get the spec?

Edit : figured it out now thankyou.

Upgrade to the IEE 1394, Card reader and basic speakers on the accessories page and then add to basket

Thanks just figured that out after trying for third time. I was skipping through too quickly!

Just comparing specs to the one I did and think I can lose things like the wireless keyboard and mouse. Might add another drive just in case one breaks - or is it easy to get spares from Dell after a year?

You're better off buying another DVDRW yourself and fitting it rather than dells far far overpriced option of a CD drive. They only cost £17 and are easy to put in (not sure if the psu and motherbaord have spare connectors though)

don't forget to go through quidco for another 5%

You should be able to download technical manual from the Dell site. This ought to show motherboard layout. PSU splitters are relatively cheap - about £1 from ebuyer?
