HELP!!! Decent/Cheap cooker needed TODAY!!!!!

are u certain that its not the fuse for the socket that has blown? You don't want to buy a new cooker and that not work. Try another appliance in the socket first.

    Have you checked the fusebox?
    Is the socket live?

The ticking sound could be the ignitor. If its a gas cooker you *could* light it an alternative method.

You shouldnt really connect a cooker to any other outlet as it can draw a lot of current.

Have you tried a radio, toaster or anything in your cooker outlet to be certain it is working properly??

If it's a gas cooker you don't necesarrily need power, just light whatever you need with a match and it'll at least give you time to source a new one.
