Hi Guys,

Hubby discovered yesterday that our lovely 3 yr old jammed an ice lolly stick into his PS3. Hubby managed to get it out, however it wont take any DVD's/Blu Rays it makes a very loud clunky/clicking sound when you try to insert it!

He has calmed down now! but is unsure what to do next, It's one of the original 60GB PS3 with the ps2 backwards compatibility.

He doesnt really get time to play games we just tended to use it for watching Blu Ray/DVD's/Divx of a memory stick.

Does anyone know how much it would roughly cost to fix? if its worth fixing?

If its a lot do you think it would be worth selling on ebay for spares/repairs and just buying a cheap blu ray player that can play divx of a memory stick.

He has a Wii as wel that doesnt get looked at so that could satisfy his gaming impluses!

Thank in advance for you help.

No - don't throw it down the stairs then claim, this is fraud. TUT - if only you could negative rep.

I'd take it to be repaired - I've seen this before, depending on how hard the kid has shoved the stick it in it may be a simple case of fixing the cogs that drag the disc in and out.

Thanks Mallinersha, it does sound like the cogs clunking away! I have just been googeing ps3 repairs and found someone local in Norwich! fingers crossed he said it shouldnt be a problem and will only cost around £10 - £30 to fix! hubby will be pleased!
