help find a good deal for st patrocks day ireland trip

It's my friends birthday the same weekend as st Patrick's day so we are wanting to do a couple of nights in Dublin. Getting there on the Friday and coming home Sunday or Monday. We are travelling from Hertfordshire, so any of the London airports.

Can anyone find us a good deal please

Hi Farmlama. Congrats on your friends birthday on st pats day, have you been to Dublin before ? It has changed over the years, had a few friends over from USA last year and they couldn't wait to get back to the North, if you need any help or have questions regarding the North of Ireland I would be glad to help, regards bc111

Ah, St Patrocks, patron saint of granite, limestone and pebbles.

Some more i fo would help im sure.

    Budget?
where have you looked so far
is ferry ok and can you drive ? maybe ferry?

The Friday is St.Patricks day and getting into Dublin will be a task to say the least unless you can get a really early morning flight. If you could change plans slightly to maybe arriving Wednesday/Thursday and returning Sunday it should work out abit cheaper. Never mind it being St.Patricks but hotels in ROI always charge far more for a Friday and Saturday stay ontop of that premium will also be the one since it is St.Patricks day.
As bc111 said it might be cheaper to fly into Belfast and stay or even Londonderry in the north also has one of the biggest parades.
Try keeping an eye on dealrush.ie (Irish kinda groupon site) as last year they did some St.Patricks day hotel deals. Even works to just get the names of some hotels and jump onto their own websites to price, mostly in ROI hotels own sites are cheaper than going through any booking agent/comparison website.

So far I have just tried googling hotel comparison sites and stuff, the best I managed to find was about £530 for both of us for flights and hotel. I do drive, but as it's a celebration weekend it could be messy and a 3 day hangover may result so driving home could be a terrible idea.
Her birthday is actually the Saturday so will more than likely need Sunday as a rest day before we travel home.

What are the dates for the flights and price if you don't mind and the arrival time (remember if arriving on Friday other than early morning it will be very difficult getting into the centre). Will give an idea of the accommodation price to beat!
On another note you looking Dublin Centre or do you not mind bus/train into the centre?
