    Help - flight times have changed

    I have just been informed by the travel agent that my return flight from Atlanta to Paris has been moved forward by 2 hours. Normally this wouldn't be a problem but it means I will arrive at Paris at 6am (should have been 8am). My connecting flight to Edinburgh is at 10am. And they cannot get me an earlier flight to Edi.

    There will be naff all to do at that time in the morning in Paris airport and I will have 2 young kids to try and keep happy.

    What would you do? Am I entitled to any kind of compensation? Should they re-route me with a different carrier?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    I don't know if you would be entitled to anything, I think they state somewhere that they can change flights etc but maybe worth checking your agreement and seeing?

    Also, write a letter or an email complaining and see if you are entitled to anything, it's worth a try :thumbsup:

    i worked in the travel buis for a while and ur not entitled to anything sadly they have to delay the flight or move the flight foward by somthing like 6 hours before they have to pay compo - it sucks but thats airlines:x

    i think 2 hours is acceptable with mpst airlines...which doesnt help you much-worth an email though-maybe they will allow you a food voucher or similar?

    My son was just left stranded in USA overnight by airline due to weather and he said the way they were treated was disgusting.

    by the time you get off and eat etc, the time will soon go.

    You will not get any compensation. I don't think it is a big deal really. You just need to deal with it. ;-)

    When we flew with our young kids the airport was just as much a part of the adventure as the rest of the holiday. Take them 'exploring', that will soon pass the time.

    Yes im pretty sure weve been given a food voucher before as our flight was delayed-but it doesnt really help you sorry

    Thanks for all your comments, 2 hour layover was fine but 4 hours with a knackered 8 and 5 year old at 6am (1am US time) in a closed airport, I think I'll struggle with this one.

    thing is though youd be grateful for that two hour pull back if the flight was then delayed and you missed the next flight, at least this way youve got more breathing space!!

    very true.

    Will your kids not jsut want to sleep? i would.
    By the time you get off your plane etc and then get to the next plane it wont feel like youve had 4 hours.
