I formatted my external hardrive to FAT32 last night through DOS (it took ages) it is a 500gb Toshiba I want to use if for my PS3 but now when I plug it back in it says the drive needs to be formatted before it can be used and the only option is NTFS.

I have downloaded swissknife but it won’t work for me on vista.

Please Help.

isn't it just right click on the icon, then click format.

I only get exFAT & NTFS with that - not sure about compatibility between exFAT & FAT32.

What about shoving a windows installation cd in, disconnecting your normal hdd & using the cd to format the drive?

Failing that, try downloading the Trial version of ]Paragon Partition Manager & see if it lets you format a hard drive in trial mode.
