Help Help Help - N95 CRISIS!

Hey all, my colleague today had an issue with his n95, so I did a soft reset. not realising, it wiped off all the photos that he needs. Desperately. A legal requirement!

I have connected the phone to my computer, tried some sort of recovery software, quite a few actually. Problem is, they dont see the phone as a drive. The phone is the first of the N95, has no memory card so I cant put it in disk drive mode. What can I do?

Ive had about 20 nokia phones, always done soft resets. Never had this happen. It wiped EVERYTHING. contacts, pics, everything.

I knew exactly what i was doing, the only foolish bit was no backup, which was not my fault

    ouch,oh dear

What did you actually do to reset the phone?

Plenty of vaseline will help ease the pain for the consequence of telling him you have lost it all!

You could hit yourself in the face and say you got mugged if you haven't told him.

Then that IS your fault. If you knew that it was going to delete everything, then YOU should have backed it up before you did it. When i am repairing a computer or something else, i always make a backup first, just incase the other person hasn't.

Ok, read the post before making stupid comments.

While I was in work, my colleague asked me to fix a tone problem. It wouldnt work, so I suggested a SOFT reset to him. And then he told me to do it, which I did.

He diddnt PAY me to do it, neither was I HIRED to do it, it was done because I knew what to do. Now, if it was a computer that I was fixing, fair enough. but he asked me to do the job, which I did, his fault for not backing up, not mine.

and I DID NOT KNOW IT WAS GOING TO DELETE EVERYTHING, as said before, a SOFT RESET DOES NOT DELETE THINGS!

Lesson learned, dont try to help anyone any more. And dont post on forums cos people dont read lol. (not everyone, just some)

also, this is what i did

*#7780# - soft reset, as described by nokia, this does not delete everything.

    if he's on O2 they've introduced a new archive system for photo's/ texts etc...worth a try...

Sure you didn't type *#7370# which is the reset code that does wipe everything as that is what it sounds like to be honest?
