HELP!! HIVE V.1 Dual Channel (Heating & Hot Water) wiring to vaillant EcoTec Plus 837

Hi All,

I have installed many of these single channel Hive receivers in the past, however now I'm a bit stumped as this receiver is a dual channel. The instructions are not clear and Hive technical have been no use.

Terminal on HIVE Receiver

N - Permanent Neutral
L - Permanent Live
1 - Hot water OFF (NC)
2 - Heating OFF (NC)
3 - Hot Water ON (NO)
4 - Heating ON (NO)
E - Earth

The wires from the boiler to the old SALUS Receiver are:

Live
Neutral
Com
NO

Does any one have a wiring diagram or any links to instructions.

Many Thanks in Advance

Your boiler isn’t heating and hot water?

can you measure the boiler switching voltage? Is it 24v or 240v

The wiring diagram is on the Hive website, also many good instructions on U Tube - I know a couple are not used or linked but you haven't got enough wires from the boiler . maybe there are another 2 or 3 from the 3 way valve ?

The Eco Tech Plus 837 is a Combi boiler - you only need a 2 channel controller if you have a hot water cylinder to control.

If that is the case then just ignore the HW connections and wire as if it is a single channel controller.

No problem man i sorted it....

Managed to get the Combi Boiler to work with the Dual Channel Hive Receiver!!

As the Vaillant Boiler supported 240V

The wiring was....

From Boiler L (Brown) >>>Terminal L on Hive
From Boiler N (Blue) >>> Terminal N on Hive
From Boiler E (Yellow/ Green) >>> Terminal E on Hive
From Boiler Heating on NO (Grey) >>> Terminal 4 on Hive
From Boiler Common (Black) >>> Capped off and made safe (no connection)

All sorted now just waiting for HIVE to update the firmware on the boxes.

Thanks man
I just didn't want to trip the fuse or fry the PCB!!!

Happy Days Thanks Lads!!
