    Sorry it an external hdd

    WDTV live, then it will show up on the network and you can transfer to it from any PC/laptop also attached to the network

    What have you got in the way of boxes? Hard drives and TVs aren't usually compatible, you need something that'll read the video files on the hard drive and play them to the TV.

    Your h/d will have to be formatted to fat32 & these type of divx/xvid players will only play standard avi's.
