Help! issues adding someone to Nintendo family online membership

Hi. I purchased a Nintendo family membership and activated the code, created a child account and linked my daughters profile and works for us getting online. I followed Nintendo’s instructions to invite and add family. It directed me to send a link to their email address to join my family group. When they log in and click the invite, it says “you are already a member of a family group, so you cannot join another family group”. They said they dont have any other online subscription. In their account however it does show their own family group containing the parent and child. They have no idea how that was set up. Do they need to leave that group and join mine? I’m concerned to advise in case they lose anything. They don’t want to lose anything saved under their profiles and only the daughter wants to join ours.
