HELP! laptop blue screen of death and constant crashing :(

hi everyone, desperately need some techy help. yesterday my laptop got the blue screen of death and now it's unusable keep either getting more blue screens or it crashes completely.
ive tried checkdisc, virus scans, system diagnostics and installed all available updates but it's still no better. it's just restarted itself after yet another blue screen and now its been stuck on checkdisc for the last half an hour.
any advice would be very much appreciated!

i'm stuck using my 13 year olds ancient desk top at the mo and it's driving me mad, lol

have you tried booting in to safe mode ?

me-thinks its time to format the harddrive fully and reinstall the windows / os . You will lose your data unless a copy can be made.

This will make the laptop as new

i can't install windows because i haven't got a disc, my laptop had it pre loaded on there.
i'm not sure if it'll let me on there long enough for me to back up everything still stuck on chkdsk at the mo. has been driving me insane the past 24 hours as i really need it!

it might be a hardware fault - note the blue screen error and google it!

Yep, quite possible a hardware problem. next time it blue screens write down the code.

well this is a bit odd, after being stuck on check disc for a whole hour, it's been absolutely fine, using it right now
do you think it's likely to happen again or has it righted itself somehow?

might have been hard drive issue which checkdisc has corrected have you installed anything recently ?

have you done a scan with malwarebytes ?

You should also check to see if you can create a recovery CD/DVD as well, so IF the laptop plays up again you can do a full reinstall from scratch - you should also try and download some hard disk checking software, just to make sure that your hard disk is definitely running out without physical faults; if it is then you'll need to look into replacing the hard disk (if it's not still covered by a warranty).
