Help me get from Leeds to Cardiff without selling a Kidney

I've always booked far in advance, but done major routes like Leeds > London etc.

Well, now I need to go from Leeds to Cardiff on 15th Sept (Returning 18th Sept) and the cheapest fare I can find is the standard £60 return!

Can anyone offer any advice? Megabus don't do it & National Express busses take 7hrs.

Please help!

try and split up the journey say bus then train or train then bus etc could work out cheaper

surely £60 return has to be a bargain for such a long journey

Maybe I'm being tight. I suppose it's alright but after doing the London trip for £10-£40 it seems steep in comparison.

Also, I've always been able to book singles and save money, but not on this occasion it seems.

Think I have myself sorted out for ~£30 with a Railcard now. Phew.

Have you got any pictures of the kidney and do have a receipt to prove you own it? I'm very interested.

have you tried raileasy

Thanks all. I tried raileasy but there was a discrepancy because they wouldn't offer me a seat on a certain train - as if it had sold out... but then one or two of the main operators would. I feel better now having not been completely taken for a ride. The kidney is still up for sale, and will be used to provide accommodation for my stay.
