Hi all I was out picking blackberries today and noticed the tree below with berries. I split one open and it had a look like a gooseberry inside.

I'm guessing it's a sloe Berry from a blackthorn tree.?

Can anyone help me identify it.

There is an app called PictureThis that allows you to photograph the leaf on any plant and it identifies it for you. Gives you all kind of advice too. Think of it as Shazam for plants
It looks like sloes but hard to tell from pics

Was there nice big thorns on there too?

Look like Sloe Berries to me. The other name for them is Black Thorn, they are the hedge row bushes with the white blossom you see in March/April.
