Help, my bath is making funny noises...

As the title says, my bath is making funny noises.

We recently bought this house and it came with a whirlpool bath. There were no instructions and no manufacturers details.

The person we bought the house off had also tiled the whole bath in place, so no chance of getting to the underneath without destroying the bathroom.

So, we used the bath on the whirlpool setting for a while, however, it's now pulsing on and off whenever power is applied. I've had to isolate it at the switch outside the bathroom.

What I really need is a great HotUKDealer to give me some advice on what the problem is please.

The bath has one button on the side and a variable 'turny thing' next to it to increase the jet power. It has 8 side jets and 4 feet jets and is rounded at both ends.

    Thanks... :~)

    Yep, it's tiled in.

The previous owner was a right burk, I've already had to put a new shower unit in because he didn't seal it properly and it leaked through the ceiling..

Yes, the jets are covered. Though it pulses with or without water in.

    I can tell, you haven't got many options then;

Put up with it or leave it as it is but don't use it

Or smash the tiles off and re tile your bathroom

I would wait until its more than just a noise, unless you are thinking of re-tiling anyway, in that case check it out..

That's what I was thinking, this really was my last resort..

Okey-Dokey, where's the hammer and bolster, those tiles are doomed!!!

    lol

Thanks for the suggestions all :-)

might be a block in the jets - when we moved into a new place which had one of these, I had to leave the jets on for ages, and you should have seen the rubbish come out of it!!

Also a common problem is leaking through the plug seal. Take the plug out and see if you can tighten the circular part of the plug hole. Things are a pain in the backside, wish they left a normal bath!
