Hello, not sure if i put this in right section but need advice on which bike to choose between trek 3700 2009 model and a claud butler ravana. Both bikes are same price since i got evans to price match at £200 each. Cant really see much difference bar the butler has disk brake on front.
any advice welcome
cheers

I guess the disc brake! which should work in the rain!
but the conventional brakes are easier to fix on the trek....

they look almost exactly alike otherwise

i am trying for them to join the cycletowork scheme where u get 40% off a new bike so i can get better one but no luck yet lol

Just looked..

is £200 your max budget ??

What are you using the bike for ? (dont say riding :-) ) ie.. to and from work, around the park, etc etc

The company I work for offer the Cycle to Work discount on bikes using HALFORDS (they have some ok budget bikes.)

Ok, if i was you, I would look at ebay and see what you can pick up on their, your going to be able to get a better bike for the money,

Let me take a look on ebay and find some examples

Ebay - item - 130374964097 - trek 6000 upgraded parts - £190

item - 150426956844 -- Giant XtC-3 Bike Small Frame - £220

All comes down to what you wanna do...

cheers rick, had a look on ebay but not much decent near me. north east

For that money, I would highly recommend this - halfords.com/web…534

Gets great reviews and personally is the best sub £250 commuters bike in my opinion.

If its defo between the Claude Butler and Trek, I would go for the Trek.

stick with the Trek - great bikes.

The Carerra is now down to £199.
