Try boots main stores m8. Pretty sure they do it now.

Remember my ma saying she had hers done recently and she was happy with it...... sure she said boots.

I would love the answer to this one too

Is it possible to upscale VHS to 1080p?

Sorry mean boots do a service near their pictures development where you handover the vhs and they put it on dvd disks. Ya get the vhs back also. They maybe able to help with up scale?

assuming you have a vhs player, just buy a dvd recorder that allows scart input. coonect the player to recorder and thats about it. you can get dvd recorders from £35 these days.

i was thinking about that, but my vhs player broke, and i thought that the "all in one" machines were meant to be pretty good quality - that is if they do copy vhs tapes to dvd

If you're gonna put it on a DVD, then you won't be able to upscale it there. Maybe you need to convert to Blu-ray for that.

look in local papers for vhs player as they go for about £5 these days, if not free!

There is only so much an upscaler can do. VHS is poor quality so you would be expecting miracles if your expecting blu ray quality due to the poor source signal.

    Buy cheap off e bay.

Just bought DVD recorder myself today for £41 (local so no delivery charges) with Freeview and ability to copy to disc, no HDD as not required at the moment and drastically increases prce. Will use DVD player as source to copy daughters videos of when she was a baby as they are getting a bit worn now.

I just bought one of these off Amazon, Panasonic DMR EZ48V.

Only £170, far cheaper than anywhere else (that I could see).

It has a VHS recorder/player and DVD recorder/player. It also has Freeview and HDMI socket.

You can copy from VHS to DVD (easy to do), or DVD to VHS should you want to (also easy).

All in the one box. Also comes in silver, but more expensive.

Thanks guildbert. I think I'll go for that one. I'm not keen on paying £250ish for these things in Currys/Comet
