As above - the mrs sings and I would like to get her some software so that she can produce some form of her own song/demo. She's got a decent microphone and a guitar - all she needs is some very basic software to make a few adjustments, etc.

Anyone use any good ones?

Acid Pro
Cubase

ProTools.

I'm sure our resident disc spinner JFK will be glad to help.

first - soundproof your music room lol. nothing more annoying than background sound.

Cool edit pro. I used it for years, and I found it the easiest to use

acid pro or ableton live

dpends what you wanna do, if your talking of recordin live songs off the mic and guitar into the pc in one take and just making basic alterations to the sound etc, then audacity will do for basic editing

Adobe Audition (It's the successor to Cool Edit)

Cheers everyone - will try a few of those!
