Help! O2 Mobile, Sim not provisioned! Samsung S9

Posted 16th Apr 2018
I have bought a new Samsung S9 from Mobilephonesdirect and I received this on Saturday.

However, since I put the sim card in it has only said " Sim not provisioned" and gave me a MM logo at the top.

I have contacted o2 on the live chat who took my Email address, name, home address but said they could not find my details on the system.
They said this would usually come up straight away in their system when ordered from Mobilephonesdirect.

I am now wondering how further I should take this or if I will be able to keep the phone for free without the contract.

Does anyone have any experience with this? I don't want to not use the phone for a full month and then end up receiving a bill, but if I don't use it and don't get billed I will be a very happy man!

Yes i have had experience if this when ibwas with t-mobile and bought via a 3rd party.

You need to contact mobile phones direct to activate the sim.

One thing i will guarantee you is that you definatly wont get the phone for free.
Just received an update from MobilePhonesDirect:

Dear Customer,

Unfortunately, due to an internal system issue we are experiencing a delay on some O2 connections.

If you are affected please be assured that we are working quickly to complete your connection. As the error is with our system, O2 will not be able to assist you. Therefore, please bear with us whilst we resolve the issue.

We understand this delay may cause some inconvenience and we greatly appreciate your patience if you are being affected. We will update you once the issue is resolved, so please keep an eye on your emails.

Kind Regards
