definately the best out there, but value for money?

If you want something small then the Toshiba is a nice choice but if you dont mind slightly bigger try and get the Medion from sainsburys,

Forgot to say are you looking for a netbook with a SATA 2.5" hard disk or one with a PCIe SSD?

how about the Lenovo s10e - selling for £259 with 1.5gb ram and 160 hdd. Just need to put xp on as it comes with Linux, but there are plenty of guides out there to do it, and plenty of vendors who will supply it for free with £0 payment, if you catch my drift ;-)

Looked at loads of netbooks before settling on the Samsung NC10, upgraded it to 2GB RAM (took 3 mins tops) and runs like a dream. Have completely given up using my old Tosh laptop and this has taken over as my main machine.

Won't set the world on fire performance wise for heavy applications but whic netbook will...

I suppose the other factor is how much does he want to spend on the netbook as well.

There are other netbook deals listed though on the HotUKDeals website and I've listed one of them for you below if it helps you out at all but the only show stopper would be you need to buy a copy of Windows XP, as it comes bundled with Linux.

Catch is I didn't get any joy for the Medion netbook for the cities along the east cost of Scotland, where he is located for working offshore - all of the stores in Aberdeen, Dundee and Edinburgh were showing out of stock when I was trying to help relatives back up north find them.

    Cheers, Scotty Boy!
