    Help partioning hard drive

So I want to partition my hard drive which I will later install linux on. I'm using Vista home basic and know how to do it using disk management. I have about 120gb free on the C drive but when I go to 'shrink volume' it doesn't let me shrink it at all. Any ideas? Shall I use a different partitioning tool?

    Ok thanks for the help,

And the most random question yet. Left my Disks on a window sill and they are slightly discoloured... should I be worried? X)
