    Help please bank transfer advice

Hi, On the 13th october i transfered £1000 from my lloyds tsb bank account to my friends natwest account. I checked my account yesterday and the money has been taken from my account but my friend hasn't recived it yet. Is this normal? Thanks for any help.

    Yes. Will take 3-5 days.

depends on how you did it. Did you make a chaps payment? this is one where you are charged somthing like £10 to do it, if so then it should have been done same day. or at least the day after.

If your friend still hasn't recived the money today, i would go bck to your bank and see whats going on.

Hi, Thank you both for your advice. I think i will phone my bank today just to be on the safe side. Rep left

It wasn't a chaps payment. Thanks

if i was you i would search google with the following '' faster payments sortcode checker '' type your post and then your freinds it will check if both banks are able to send and receive faster payments if so the money should of been in there account with in 2 hours unless it was done @ night then it would be sorted the next day but again with in 2 hours of opening

Hi, Thank you for your advice. I just checked and they can both receive faster payments. I'm definately phoning my bank now. Rep left

try not to be 2 worried as if there checking via internet banking it can sometimes take a day for them to update there system and show the money going in, for example i paid for a phone on here via BT and was told it would be done with in 2 hours yet a day later the payment showed in there account as pending, good luck anyway let us no what happens

Thank you, I'll keep you posted

can i be your friend

Don't worry, My dad often transfers money from his Barclays account to my Nationwide account and it will take about 4 or 5 days. If you both had the same bank then it would probably be the same day !

But what you are saying sounds OK, if anything did go wrong with a transfer it automatically comes back to you after 2-3 weeks, so the money would never get lost :-)
