Been playing for a while, no need for a card shuffler, no need to decide seating. I'd say no buy ins. Or limit to 1 buy in each, OR limit to buy ins for a certain amount of time.

I play with 4 diff coloured chips.

5 Whites - Lowest Value
6 Greens - Double the whites value
6 Blues - Double the Green value
5 Reds - Double the Blue Value

Raise the blinds every 30 mins.

Seems to work.

For seating we usually take A, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 & 8 from a deck, draw a card each and then sit in card order round the table. Person who got the Ace deals first.

Might as well get into the habit of doing a proper shuffle. The player on the dealers' left shuffles the cards. the player on the dealers' right cuts the cards and only then does the dealer pick them up and deal.
(Actually, might have right and left mixed up - will check for you)

I have been running tournaments at work for a couple of years. I have some files that may help you in starting your own tournaments. If you PM me with your email address then I will send you these tomorrow night.

Good luck
