Help regarding internet connection

Question - BT is currently my internet provider however recently I have been having problems with my connection. This seems to have started since I have had an alarmed system installed (through my telephone line).
The line seems to work fine with one additional device working with it but crashing if we trying to use the internet and play a game console.
What is the best solution to resolve this problem?

Thanks in advance

ADT is the alarm company

Not heard of that company. I know some alarm systems are not compatible with BT broadband.
It all depends on what they have at the exchange. Anything that is connected to that BT broadband number will need filters on.

ADT are one of the leading securirty companies around.

Sounds really stupid - but do I need to sort out the filters or is this something that happens automatically? Also, I think I have 1Gb usage - is this something to do with it? Would it help if I were to go wireless?
Thanks very much in advance

Any device connected to your telephone line needs a filter including alarm systems, Sky and your home phones.

I would be very surprised if you are exceeding usage.

Is it a redcare system?

Never heard of any alarm not ebing comaptible with broadband, Redcare wasn't originally but works fully with ADSL now. As stora said, you need any device connected to a phoneline filtered. It's possible that they may have tee'd into thr A B termianls on the back of your master socket, making it alot more diffcult to filter.
