Help required with chosing sub £350.00 laptop

I want to buy a laptop for my wife for xmas. keep looking on here for deals and there are loads but every single one has loads of "its great" or "its pants" remarks

What I need is a wireless laptop with 3gb memory, decent sized hard drive and potential to play a few (not recent) games. It will mostly be used for web browsing and storing pictures, vids etc.

Anyone suggest a good machine for around (preferably under) £350.00????

    Hi cassius801,

The best place you can go is Dell Outlet:

Have a look between 9-10 am and 4-5pm - you'll get what you want there. Search for Inspiron or Lattitude Notebook platforms.

    Good luck mate!

Morrisons have one for £349, 2GB ( i know you asked for 3), 250GB Hard Drive, Vista Home Premium,Built in webcam...

I think you will find it hard to get a laptop under £350 with 3gb of memory, however find one that doesnt have enough memory then add more, it is very cheap.

Can i just ask why 3gb memory ? , This is something people seem to be fixated on recently and i dont understand why as it would be practically impossible to tell the difference between one with 2gb and one with 3gb,It would be like buying a car and saying the only important thing is that it has 125bhp and not 123bhp,

    totally agree.

dont think you'll find a much better deal than this one. I have this laptop and it is excellent and very fast.

thanks for the advice so far guys. Put 3gig as no idea how fast these things are etc, if as you say there isnt much difference in speed etc then I suppose 2 gig would do...

Best thing to spend the extra money on is the processor / graphics these are two key things that cannot be upgraded at a later date.
