    Help - Sky/Freeview/FreeSat etc

    Hi All

Currently i have $KY, which i mostly use for sports. I reside in an area where that is the only option for a paid service, but as you all know their prices are a rip off.

What i am looking for are other options instead of $KY, using my current Disk supplied by $KY for another Satalite service by using a different decoder box.

Is their anything out their that i could move to whilst using my existing dish ?

    Thanks

Just stop subscribing to Sky and your card will automatically become a freesat from sky card to view the free channels

    hi

i am aware of this but looking for an alternative to $jy, somehow use the current equipment but be able to use a different provider (european or anywhere else) for sat service.

Basically instead of me ripping out $ky and getting a Sat provider to hook up a new dish with decoder for me to pick up european channels from different Sats.

    Hope that makes sense.

Sky equipment is only really suitable for Sky.

The dish etc. will be OK to use with Freesat, but that isn't any better than Freesat from Sky.

sky dish can be used to pick up sat's on astra and hotbird but you will need a different box m8

They can be used, but are not ideal, depending on location, a Region 2 Sky Dish may be just about be big enough.

Ideally an 80cm / 1 metre dish is required for most locations.

chers Dub1 - what kind of box would i need

really depends on what you want m8, as say for example a techomate 1500, will open free channels etc but not sky 1 etc, it will open free european channels and channels open via keys, the only way to get sky with no sub is illegal, but can be done via a linux box and card sharing, but a larger dish as mentioned above would be needed, id join a forum like alsat.co.uk and do some reading or pm me
