Hi everyone, i need some help please. My internet has been very slow the past few days , i looked online and the advice i found was to check what devices are connected. I checked (it took me ages im not good with computers) and i have found another device connected to it. I have changed my password is there anything else i should do?

changing your password should be fine

When you say you have changed your password do you mean your WEP/WPA key or the password to access the router pages?

If you haven't already you will need to set/change the encryption password to something secure and also enable MAC filtering within the router config.

like most thinks electrical, the first thing you should try is to switch it off (the router in your case) for 10 seconds then switch it back on...More often than not this will help, if not cure it!

Should be good enough unless you have a hacker in the neighbourhood.

Personally I would also change the password the access to router config and see if you can enable MAC filtering also.

None of these will make you 100% safe but should be enough of a deterent to make anyone not want to bother.

Most routers have a list of attached devices and a list of their ip's.

did it not come with a manual or something which tells you how to change the settings on the router?
