HELP son has dropped and broken his DS Lite

Found 2nd Jan 2009
Any one help me

I live in Birmingham. My son dropped his DS Lite and now it will not switch on. It will charge up ok so it's not the battery.

Anyone know of repairers in the are that will take a look and give me a quote?
Or any other ideas please?

Minor repairs to the DS/DS Lite are charged at £29.85 (repairs outside of warranty period)
Major repairs to the DS/DS Lite are charged at £53.85 ( misuse or physical damage)

As long as you cant see damage you'll get away with cheap repair they can quote before repair when it arrives

we used friends reciept lol "We will accept photo copies of till receipts, bank & credit card statements"

or warranty?

i sent my wii back to them out of warenty, they fixed it, never charged me and it was a fantastic service all round.

Thank you very much
I have added rep. This sort of information should have a place on the boards and sticked.

When did you purchase this and was it purchased in a package so over £100 and bought on your credit card, if so, it may be covered under that and a claim can be made, not exactly sure about the full details but just a thought also accidental coverage on house insurance but excess will apply

It could be a fuse problem.
There are 2 fuses in the ds f1 and f2 if your ds is not under warranty It may be worrth loomking at the f1 fuse as that 1 is allways the first to go.
Grab a solder iron solder off the f1 fuse and just drop a blob of solder between the contacts.
I have fixed my sons ds like this.

You can find a diagram on google how to fix nintendo fuse

Do any lights come on when you plug in a charger? It's possible the little black nub on the power switch connector that attaches to the motherboard has come off. Does the power Switch seem to be sliding freely? You can remove the rear case (triwing screwdriver required) and at least have a look to see if that's the problem.
