No. Not a rat or anything, but something else that may have been downloaded.

Here's the problem, All my favourites work fine, but any address I type into the address bar it won't eve attempt to load the website. Had issues updating AVG Free tonight, but have finally managed it. Can't update my database for NoAdware. In the interface it won't let me, and when I try going to the website (not a favourite) it won't.

Any ideas? No, I've not been on any torrent websites, or doing anything I shouldn't.

I've got AVG running a slow search ATM, as well as running NoAdware and Spybot searches.

All help appreciated and repped.

Don't suppose you noticed something called "XP Anti-Spyware 2009" running on your system? Some of the symptoms seem to match what I found on a friend's PC that he asked me to look at.

if you have antivirus 2009,which i got once and it was quite scary, then it's an aggresive marketing ploy and i got rid of it by downloading a thing called stopzilla and then uninstalled stopzilla after it got rid of it

Or you can use Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware to do the same:

download.com/Mal…tml

It successfully cleaned up my friend's PC and got him back up and running again.
