help to find a place to take a 3 yr old staff urgently

i no this isnt really the forum for this but need help urgently. i have 2 staffs, mum (6) and son (3) and theyve increasingly started getting more aggresive with each other to where it now keeps resulting it full on fights where the mum nearly got her ear ripped off. me and m children aged 3,4,6 &9 have now had to leave my house as i cannot run the risks that 1 of my children might get hurt, i trust my dogs with the children just not if they start to have a fight in which 1 of the kids could get caught in the middle, im in london/south east but am willing to travel if it means he is going somewhere where he will be rehoused, i have tried battersea and they havent got back to me ive tried celia hammond and ive tried dogs trust, can anyone help as to where my dog could go thanks.

Has Dogs Trust refused I didn't think they could? What about your local paper?

hope you find a place, love staffs to death.

Who's starting the fights usually? is it over nothing? toys? food?

for ages its the pup but when she growled he left her alone, but hes got more and more pestering of her and i thin shes just had enough, she used to let him ea from her bowl but now this aggravates her if he trys to take her food and if he starts then she starts and it ends up quite bad, dont want to let him go as he is brill dog would never intentionally harm my kids when they were at it other day they caught me where i was struggling to seperate them, but neither of em went for me while i was trying to seperate them, i trid 2 dogs trust as am willing to travel if it means hes in a gd home, i tried hastings and harefield.

sounds like he's been giving in for a long time but is now trying to become the boss over here. Feed them seperate and i hate saying this but if you have him fixed it will take away a lot of that agression. Do they get a lot of exercise?

Have you tried a professional trainer? A good one would be able to work out the problem & implement steps to resolve it.

and you think they are safe with the kids, i hate those dogs, they should never be near children

dee i may be speaking out of turn here but how can you possibly pass this dog over to someone and take the chance of a child being attacked by it, i am pretty shocked as you feel your children cannot be around it but anyone elses can be, i personally couldnt take that risk

op is asking who would take the dog, not asking for a family with young kids to take it, theres a big difference. Anyone who knows anything about dogs will know just because two dogs fight sometimes it doesnt mean theyre gonna eat your kids.

sassie my dog is brilliant with my children, im worried about my children being caught betwen my dogs fighting and what im asking for is help with places that rehome dogs after assesment, if he is assessed and they have to put im down becase they yhink he is too agressive then so be it but its better for a proper dog establishment to make this decision im not going to just have him put down when i know he is a good dog, if i was going to give him to a family with chidren then i would just of put him on a free site but there are too many undesirables out there who use dogs.

then i am sorry for jumping the gun, but i obviously have not read the opening post as this

Best of luck with finding a suitable home. Just to give my perspective, I was attacked by our pet dog (Beagle) when I was 11, my sister was a toddler and I assume it was her presense in the household that upset the balance. It has put me off dogs for nearly 30 years - I would be very cautious of any dog in a family environment with young children.

you are right i have just re read my op and i should of stated i was looking for organisations, i just assumed coz id put other names ppl would understand i would of in no way ever put anyone else at risk. thanks for pointng this out! sorry about confusion, x

op give me a bit of time to get hold of my cousin she breeds staff's and she may know of a rescue centre that will help you place him, I have to add if he is getting aggressive with your other dog i personally would make sure he goes to aa farm or somewhere that he wont be around kids, Im sorry i know this offends loads of people but i honestly dont think Staffs, Rotties, Dobermans, and a few others should be around kids. We had a staff when our son was born, when he was about 16 months old she was in the garden and spotted him through the glass double glazed door and shot straight for him, growling and snarling ive NEVER seen a dog so nasty, She did this twice so we rehomed her at a local farm so she was then a working dog to keep foxes and rats off the farm
thank god it was double glazed.
ive been around dogs all my life . Even my cousin who like i said breeds them puts her 2 in cages when her grandaughter is there

OP where are you in the UK?

You have moved out of your house.......

    Due to a dog ?

my sister in law had a bull mastiff who was a fantastic dog but when she had her little boy she went to all the usual charitable places such as rspca, dogs protection league, as she could'nt cope with such a big dog and new baby and they didnt want to know, she ended up putting her in the paper and luckily she found her a new home, its been 18mths now and the new owners still send her pics of sophie (the dog). Bit of advice tho, when people where phoning up enquiring about the dog the first thing they wanted to know was has she been spayed, she had, they didnt want to know. so if they ask if your dog has been neutered just be careful as they might only want it to breed from. Good luck.

You mad? Staffies have a reputation for being good with kids hence their nickname "nanny dog"
Any breed can turn nasty though and I hate it when people give the breed the tag dangerous its 95% nurture rather than nature.

OP our dogs can fight over food too, the only way of stopping it is feeding them in seperate rooms and not allowing them near the dining table in case food gets dropped, like you I (and my OH's boob) have got in the way separating them. The rest of the time they are soft as shi.. grease.
