Help transferring data to USB pen drive

HI. i have a 16gb Sandisk USB memory stick and am trying to transfer a file which is about 8gb to the pen drive but when i attempt it i get an error message saying "the disk in the destination drive is full" even though there is nothing on the disk. at the moment it is formatted to fat32 so i reformatted it to NTFS and the file transferred perfectly fine but unfortunately my dvd player (sumvision) comes back with an error message saying unsupported. Can some1 help please? thanks

a lot of divx players won't support massive files - i.e. they need fat32 drives, not ntfs

plus if it's HD content maybe your player won't play it unless hdmi (found that one out myself, but wass huge 50" arrives in a few hours so yippee)

what file is it that is 8gb? why can't you split it into smaller films etc??

Perhaps your dvd player doesn't support NTFS. If thats the case I guess that you would need to reformat into FAT32 and split the file into 2 or more parts.

    Are you on a Mac?
Remove the .Trashes file. (which is an automatic copy of the files that you have on there)

If your player doesnt recognise NTFS then you will have to use FAT32, but unfortunately Windows has issues with individual files that are over 4gb in FAT32.

Split the video into 2 or more sections, or stick it on a dual layer disc.

Good point, and easy to test. Keep your USB on NTFS and try a regular .avi file
