Help with accomodation in France for overnight stop!

Hi, not sure if anyone can help - looking for a one night stop over round about the limoges region of France, we are driving from Calais to Spain, and wanted a stop off, approx half way. We have 4 children in tow, on a fairly tight budget. wondered if anyone had any recommendations - or places to avoid! Thanks in adv.

Trouble with Formule1 hotels are that they are very cramped, bunk beds over the top of the double bed and the bathroom is down the corridor! Fine if you are on your own but not as a family I wouldn't have thought. I hated the F1 rooms.

Ibis and Campanile hotels etc are all along the route by Limoge

thanks, i looked at formula one, to be honest might be a little difficult with the children.
The Ibis looks good, but only does double rooms, which could leave 2 kids in a room alone.
Has anyone stayed in a Camponile before?

    thanks for your replies!

I have stayed in Campanile they again are very much like the Ibis, most French hotels are very basic to be honest. You might be better to look at a private B&B as they are very good and far more family orientated.

ive stayed in all of them and the Camponile is ok for a one night stop id say.. but then we dont mind any of them.. they might be small but they are clean

Stick with Formule1, they are cheap, clean, bookable on line, toilets clean themselves every use, fill up breakfast for a few quid. Plus you can sneak in two children and two adults in one room!!!!!

in case this helps anyone else - just booked rooms at an ETAP hotel. They are almost identical to Formule 1 (run by same hotel chain - Accorhotels), same rooms etc except they:roll: have ensuite facilities - handy with small children! and only costs approx £6 extra per room. oh and you also get cereals with your brekkie!!!!!
