Help with best man speech.

Could anyone help me out with a funny best mans speech. My husband has been looking online but finds it hard to find any websites for free. Most give a short sample and then request £10 - £25 for the service. Your help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I can't give any advice other than however much he is tempted don't put in anything embarrassing about the bride or the groom. They may laugh at the time but it may cause hurt and you don't want to cause hurt on their wedding day. Does it have to be funny? Does he not want to go for loving and romantic?

Hitched is a fantastic website for all wedding planning.

This is a link to the speech section

Somethingi wasn't brave enough to do, but i went to a wedding th other week and they did, was...

Start off by saying you need to take off your glasses (if he wears them, if not put on some comedy 'strong' ones), based on the fact that if you can't see them then you won't be as nervous. Then pick up your notes and proudly pronounce "fornication and tits" "oh, wait a minute (put glasses back on/take glasses off)" "sorry, for an occasion such as this"

Not sure if that helps you, just a funny story!! Also, tell him not to drink beforehand, no matter how tempting it is!!!

Ok, if our best man does what sancho suggests he'll be off our Christmas card list for years. Horses for courses but I wouldn't appreciate it!!!

That's why i wussed out, wasn't really suitable for the wedding i was best man at, the wedding that i saw the best man do it at was definitely one where they would see the funny side, so it went down well. but i totally agree, you have to think of your audience, and under no circumstances should the bride feel uncomfortable!

Not the sort of audience that would appreciate this - but its a good one:thumbsup:

Try the local library, might have something. Remember it's not just the bride and groom you might insult, my mother-in-law didn't speak to us for 18 months after the wedding because of Best man's "jokes". BLISS!!
