Help with Dell laptop

My daughter thought that it would be fun to pull the keys out of the laptop. I am now using a laptop with 7 keys missing (and it is very hard to do).
Does anyone know whether you can get replacement keys or would I need to purchase a new keypad? If so, do you know the rough cost?

I have tried to call Dell customer services but I am finding it hard to get through to anyone as they keep putting me through to the wrong department

What dell is it?

more often than not you can refix the keys. my daughter done something similar and i was able to pop em back on. If they are proper broken and wont go back on then you can usually get spare keys from ebay, though, getting that many it might be cheaper getting a keyboard.

Inspiron 1501?

Replacement keyboards aren't that cheap, the last time the dog managed to remove a key from a Dell laptop I bought a single replacement key off ebay. I'd have a look on ebay for prices on complete keyboards as well as possibly purchasing individual keys.

I tried refixing them but she has also popped the back off them. Will try ebay - thanks.

£2.50 a key approx = £17.50 or £13 for a keyboard. Maybe not genuine but would most likely work fine. Thats on ebay.

Sounds good. Not bothered whether genuine or not, so long as it works better than this. Thanks.

Did you use glue?

on thing tho, the ribbon on the keyboard is more a pain to undo and redo than the keys imo anyway lol

no glue. There were 2 clips that fix to the bottom of key and then they clip onto the keyboard. I just clipped it all back together.

i've got a couple of spare dell d410 keyboards, not sure if they'll fit your laptop, but if they do you can have one for £15 delivered!
