# help with excel formula

I used to be a whizz at these things, but i'm having a mental block, might just be because i'm hungover.

anyway what i'm trying to do is.

add cells f3 & g3, add cells h3 to L3 then minus h3:L3 from f3 & g3 :?

I know this is going to be unbelievably simple and i will look like a dumn mule.

but I'm blaming the consumption of many pints of Fosters followed by many a class of JD+Coke... leaving me feel a bit blurgh today..

anyway thanks and rep will be left for the first few that help

=(f3+g3)-sum(h3:l3)

That should do the trick

I think this might work, but it's a bit long winded:

=F3+G3+(H3+I3+J3+K3+L3)-((F3+G3)-(H3+I3+J3+K3+L3))

=SUM(F3:G3)-SUM(H3:L3)

done this which works can it be tided any beter than this though

edit: forgot to say thanks, so thanks emma

=f3+g3+sum(h3:l3)-((f3+g3)-sum(h3:l3))

fwibble
