    Help with hayfever please?

I have today started again with bad headache, sinus pain in my cheeks and a painful neck.. I take antihistamines but they don't seem to help. And everything else the doctors can think of throwing at it. Does anyone know any good remedies I would be very grateful.

I have suffered for a long time and nothing prescribed from the doctors have ever been successful. Many thanks for your very helpful answer though!

there is an injection you can get called kenalog which your doctor may agree to prescribe depending on the severity of your symptoms, where you live etc (funding and local pct's view on how safe the treatment is)
Side effects include sudden death but no pain no gain i suppose (google it if you're that worried)
My practise nurse referred me for it last year and I had it (it lasted about 3-4weeks) when I went back to have it again the nurse had been replaced (unrelated i'm sure) and the new one said no. My doctor prescribed it any way but I decided against the second dose after weighing up the risk.

get rid of the cat and if you have a bird that as well

I am a lifelong hay fever sufferer and no matter how bad it has been it has never gone to my neck. Are you sure you don't have other problems?

and if you had mentioned this in the first place then maybe I would not have been so flippant with my reply!

Eating local honey is meant to ease symptoms.

Not just one spoonful but over a period of time.

i get bad sinus pain where left half my face swells up , feels like i got toothache , headache and someone's stabbing me around my nose and eye

lately ive been taking asprin , beechams sinus tablet things and a couple of hayfever tablets at one time then my face starts stinging and eventually it goes away , my dr is useless , he told me i catch it , but ive been getting it for 5 or so years and no one i know has ever had it

I take strong tablets for back pain but the doctors say the neck pain is connected to sinus and hayfever, I just get so down with this problem its not funny.

    VODKA!!

Have you ever tried a nasal spray? I swear by the Sudafed one it really helps with colds and hayfever, just a thought.

Yes I have tried different nasal drops over the counter and prescription ones seem to help a little bit not enough.

Thats a shame, no other sprays/drops work for me only the Sudafed spray

I used to suffer quite bad from hayfever. Had all the tablets out there. Pyriton/eze and Clarytin never helped. I tried the Morrisons own brand once and they were really cheap. They were the best i'd ever had. They were that good i went back next week and bought a summers worth in one go. Never had anything as bad as what you are describing mind.

Have you tried snorting Vodka as a nasal spray equivalent?
