Help with how to assemble a Poundland Diamond Kite

Found 19th Apr 2010
I have bought one of the two-handled diamond shaped kites from poundland, however, it comes with no instructions!!! Can anyone give me an idea of how to put it together? I've managed the sticks and black string but can't work out where to join the thread that is attached to the handles.
I hope this all makes sense, any tips will be gratefully received!

Haha!

Really though? :-)

the carrier bags from poundland have a better chance of flying than the kite

I did suspect that, but whilst trying to find some instructions online I came across this fspictureoffice.blogspot.com/ which made me think it was worth another go!

You'll be wasting your time asking on here unless you want the usual smart ass comments - I'd try googling if I were you!

Found this which might give some hints. I can remember my grandad making kites with us when we were all small. Think they were quite similar to this. Didnt look flash but they did fly given the right conditions.

Thanks WoolyM I'll see if I can figure it out now
I don't really know the way this works or the etiquette of HotUKdeals as this is my husbands account, but as I say to my kids, if you've got nothing nice, helpful or productive to say, don't say anything at all! I'm happy to ignore the sarcasm and take the chance that someone might actually want to help!

I find it's the same with every thread, you think people would of learn't … I find it's the same with every thread, you think people would of learn't by now

Oh come on, you don't post in every thread

The one I have 2 strings which attach to the back horizontal stick (one each side of the vertical) and then come through two little holes in the kite itself, each one has a loop on the end.

The handle lines then had 2 little hooks on the end of the line which you attach to the lines coming through the kite.

you mean he was implying its me who posts smart ass comments

And no I didn't mean you I just meant in general

Old thread but hey, i bought some of these, found that the holes didnt get used i tied the main string at the top of the kite inline with the hole and other inline with bottom hole... the main length must be straight up so lay kite flat to do it then tie the other line to main line make sure the main line doesnt get pulled towards the bottom string. I opted for 15lb fishing line instead of the cheap cotton it came with... a good 150-200m of it and yes it did indeed work very well taking all the line. It eventually crashed into the sea and broke.
