hi guys i need a bit of help as i cant work out how international postage via the royal mail works, got an item for sale on ebay and ive been made an offer, so im trying to work out how much to quote for postage

it weights roughly 500g, its valued at approx 100 quid, so would want it insured

do they do an insured for to spain? and is it upto that value? roughly how long will it take, and will the buyer have to pay any custom fees if i put the full value on the package (i think not as its in the EU, but im not 100%)

many thanks!

i was going to use rm, just couldnt work out how it works when you want to include insurance, and how much the insurance is worth, as it seems that standard cover is stil 41 quid, not sure if you have to pay extra, they do one thats 5-6 quid but not sure if thats the price of postage, or the price on top, was hoping someone had done it before and was in the know

Hiya
I posted something 'signed for' to France last week but value was £100 so it cost extra around £22 I think it was.

If you go to royal mail website com up to £500 was about £12 not sure about customs

cheers, 22 quid is a bit steep, what service did you use? to be fair im not that bothered about a signiture, not sure if that adds a lot to the price or not just need the cheapest way of insuring it for 100 quid incase it goes amiss

hmmm I think it was internation signed for and I couldve got it for less but because I wanted value noted at £100 thats what put it up. I did't want to take any chances on ebay of having someone say it didn't arrive.

yea thats my problem, i just realised i could split the item into 3 seperate parcels, so itll cost 2 quid x 3 in total, which is a lot better, but i suppose then ive got 3x the chance of it going missing!

swafe

if the buyer wants it then tell them the price, not worth skimping on postage prices when it comes to ebay.....if it gets lost and buyer files a claim with paypal they will win everytime
