    Help with Laptop question (techy)

I have just bought the Sony Vario Laptop from Empire (due tomorrow). How easy is it to replace the DVD drive with a Blu-RAy / HD-DVD multi drive. Is it as easy as buying a reader & swapping over? or is it a proper nightmare?

    Any comments welcome

If Its A Standard Laptop Drive You Just Undo A Screw Under The Drive And Slide It Out(make Sure The Tray Is Out This Gives You A Handle To Pull

Good luck being able to source a laptop sized Bluray / HDDVD drive that will fit though. You will also need Cyberlink PowerDVD ultra in order to play movies.

    EDIT:

I just noticed that the graphics chipset in that Sony is very weak, so does not meet the minimum requirements for Bluray playback

Usually, manufacturers bring out replacement Blu-Ray drives that will specifically fit a laptop. However, if there is no such drive for your laptop, I'm afraid you're stuck until they bring Blu-Ray external drives to the masses
