Help with name of product please ?

Not sure if anyone will call me thick here ( i know people will think it ). Last night on an aeroplane a guy opposite me was watching a film on what looked like a mini laptop. It was about 10 inches x 8 inches & very slim. Does anyone know what this 'thing' is called please as i want to get one ?

** Serious thread as i have no idea what they are called **
