    Help with Outlook Backup?

    Hi All

I'm really hoping someone can help me out as there are a number of IT experts on here. Some of the deals which get really hot, I haven't even a clue what they are so whilst I'm not a total idiot and have a reasonable grasp of IT issues, I'd value some expertise.

I've been regularly backing up my Outlook (version 2007 & not Express) on my external hard drive. I have 4 USB points on my laptop, which is obvously how I connect, but when plugged in, the hard drive was recognised as a G:

It's now showing up though as E: and I haven't done anything differently. I've tried filling up the USB's with different peripherals in the hope when I plug the hard drive in, it'll show up as the G: and also tried moving the peripherals around for the same reason.

Should anyone know the answer, I'd be exceptionally grateful and will add rep although may need some guidance too as I can work out adding heat but not rep! Sorry for being such a pain!

outlook has a hissy fit when the drive letter changes? - but only if the data file is actually on the external drive I don't know, this guy is crazy :-D

Lumoruk, you're a lifesaver. That immediately solved it. How can I leave you some rep?

csiman, wasn't bothered but just wanted to backup. This solved it.

Enjoy what's left of the sun!
