    Help with phones4u problem's

    i got 2 contracts out about 2 months ago, they where special cash back deals where we got £150 cash back on each handset with in 28 working days from the date we took the contract out. Ive had nothing but problems since day one

    1) 28 days later we got £150 cash back for one handset and £75 on the end (they said the sales guy made mistake - so the other £75 took another 28 days to be sorted)

    2) we noticed on the contract they salesguy has gave false details ( fake home number - said i was a home owner - said i had 3 credit cards) none of these are true + i was never asked these question's

    3) one of the handsets never worked right since day one the fault was witnessed by both the mananger and assistant manager and they sent the phone for repair ( a week later it arrived with the same problem) so we again took it store and again both the above witnessed the same fault

    4) over 2 weeks later with no contact we went into the store and they called the repair guys who said the phone had no fault and that they wont return the phone unless we pay £18

    5) the store manager has now said his hands are tied he said he will pay the £18 but that wont help as the fault is still there

    he said to write a letter to headoffice and make a complaint

    i was wondering have you guys got any tips, or any ideas about what i can write in the letter etc

    its such a pain as we pay £90 a month and my old man cant even use his phone or sim

    Go to trading standards mate, there having a giraffe with that.....

    its not fit for purpose and they might have them for aggressive tactics (ie not giving phone back unles pay £18)

    As above - although a politely worded letter or phonecall to someone high up in Phones For You (I know it's not their name but i can't bare to right in text speak, it's bloody awful) stating your intentions might be as good.

    Did I hear on the news recently that they're being investigated for something?

    You're probably right but I wouldn't pay them out of principal! Bloody shisters!

    I also would not pay,let them take it to court it would be laughed out.I had a similar problem with e2save who I would never use again.They are not keeping to the contract tell them this and and that you are taking it to Trading standards.It took 4 months to work my problem out but in the end they paid my phone bill.You need to tell them that they now need to pay this as you are not using the phone which is of no fault of your own.good luck:thumbsup: You even have proof in the managers.

    I could have a field day on this one. We went to these monkeys for an upgrade, cutting a very long story short I wrote to head office and got a cheque for £50 to compensate me. I was lucky, by persisting I cancelled our contracts within their cancellation period. The store did everything in their power, morals forgotten to force me not to. I sat there and made a huge fuss until they did as I asked.

    However I am not sure you will be quite so lucky as you have passed their 7 day no quibble magic date. But you must complain, naming and shaming.

    Finally this shows how important it is to check what you are signing to ensure the information is accurate. They will no doubt say you have signed it so it and you are therefore responsible for the info on the contract.

    Our experience invoved the salesman lying over several issues, specifically telling me I could 'only get a contract which has insurance at a cost of £25 per month, but this could be cancelled at any time by simply phoning the number on the leaflet'. Their customer complaints department were very interested in this as it is simply a sales tactic to get them personally to the top of the 'Genius Insurance Tactical Sales' (GITS to you and me) League.
