If you guys have any tips with traveling with them, and what to do/what to avoid, please let me know. I don't want them to leech more money out of me!

I don't think you need to any more. You paid pretty much for everything they have ... ups sorry you could add the insurance :-D
Make sure you're within 15KG limit for the luggage. Last time I flew with them (about a moth ago), they were very funny with me having laptop bag and the hand luggage so I had to fit my laptop into the bag. I don't think there's anything else you should worry about. Rest is just pure luck

Just go with online check in and no checked baggage. Don't go with priority boarding and pay with a visa electron. And don't take travel insurance. If you do it that way you'll save about £40

Make sure you're not fat !!!!!

If you need to check a bag into the hold (i.e. leave it at the desk and pick it up at the other end when you land) then you can only check-in at the desk. If you have carry-on luggage only then you can check-in online. I think there's a weight limit of about 5kg for carry-on bags, and they have to be within a certain size limit. You might get away with the bag being slightly on the heavy side, as I've never seen them weighed, but if they're too big you might get turned away (I've actually witnessed this).

Hope this helps!

I think the limit for the hand luggage is 10kg and some size restrictions applies.

I thought they've changed it recently and you'll get charged for Visa Electron too, same as all the other cards

Thanks for all help so far, but are you sure about not being able to check in online if I have to check in a bag?

just booked a ryanair flight - didn't charge for electron though ( they show the different card charges during the booking process) !

If you check in a bag, you have to check in at the desk, I'm pretty sure about that.

nope - every card switch, visa etc BUT visa electron had a charge - charge shown as 0.00 - certainly would have noticed the charge since I was booking 4 adults !

used entropay as an electron card.

BTW you can check in a bag using the on-line option !

Still confused because when I booked online, I picked the option:

1 bag check in + web check in

from the drop-down box. So it should, therefore, mean that it *is* possible to check in a bag AND do web check in?

Was just a joke regards the recent news that Ryanair maybe adding extra charges to overweight flyers.

Yes the option for on-line checkin + 1 bag (other option airport check -in + 1bag)- I think this means you check in on-line and when you get to the airport (Liverpool for me) you go to a fast bag drop desk ( am assuming there is one at Liverpool) - gonna have to ring 'em maybe !

That answers a lot, thank you!

I'll probably email them - their hotline is like a quid a minute!

rang em yesterday on the reservations number at 10p per minute - today a message it's a pound a minute !

I think the £1 a min is during extended opening hours which must be weekends - gonna try again on monday !

got thro monday - 10p a minute there is a fast bag drop at liverpool so on-line check in and fast bag drop !

must make sure to go to the loo before boarding in case they charge for that now, I did read on the website that you can arrange oxygen on ryanair flights - wow what a relief i might still be alive when the plane lands.

ok... firstly OP you didnt need to pay £20 for online check in.
you should have used an electron card to eliminate the £10 fee.
I thought online check in was free?

eitherway, check in is literally scanning a barcode on your ticket so it saves you like 1minute of your time instead of online check in.

Ryanair have now started ramping up airport check in charges; it is £5 cheaper to check in online and 'bag drop' per person per return trip.

The equivalent cost to check in at airport would have been £40, as opposed to the £30 by checking in online and bag dropping.
