Arghhhhh!!! Sorry I hope someone can help me!! I am useless!!!

I have a new Sony BDP S350 player that I can't get working with my new LCD TV (also sony)...I have it plugged into the the back with the power lead and an HDMI cable...am I missing something?

I can get it to recognise the player with 'HDMI 1 Player 1 (BD)...however no picture. My boyfriend managed to get the easy set up menu working once, however it just disappeared without him touching anything and we now can get it back!

Any idea pleeeeaaassee!! x

Sorry didnt read your post properly ...the tv is a
Sony Bravia 40'' KDL-40V4000 HD Ready LCD TV

sorry i can only tell you my settings on my sony tv !

go into menu

then down to set-up

push right , then down to HDMI Set-up

HDMI control = ON
Auto devices off = ON
Auto Tv on = ON

see if this helps

It might be a resolution problem - manual says to press the STOP (black square) button on the S350 for more than 10 seconds which should reset to the lowest resolution - not all TVs support all resolutions.

What is the model number of your LCD? I can take a look if you let me know.

Thanks, I've done that. It's still the same, a black screen with 'HDMI1 and Player 1 (BD)' on the screen with no sound or pic. The HDMI cable is brand new and doesn't look damaged. I may give up too soon!!

but the S350 can do 1080p can't it? Which means the TV might just go black?

Ignore me - just read the spec in the TV manual and it defo supports all res....

Looking at manual you should have a HD indicator light to show its doing this

Do as Coldape said, and try playing a film on the Blu-ray player just insert a disc and press the play button and your tv will detect there is a signal and change to the Hdmi socket that your blu-ray player is plugged into.

Yes, I've changed the settings so it's using HDMI...I've put a dvd in, it plays as the counter goes, however the pic still stays black. I can't even get or see any set up menus from the blu ray.

If you do a search through HDMI set-up it does find the connected player, however just nothing on the screen.

I can't, the cable isn't long enough...do you think it might be the HDMI cable. I thought it couldn't be as the green light on the tv flashes wheh you use the blu ray remote and because it is recognising the connection as player 1.

Thanks for that...didn't find that setting...however...something odd is happening with it now. When I went to the settings menu and into the picture option looking for the display change option.... the dvd pic and sound came on. I thought that must have fixed it but now it's not working again!! V odd.
