    help with sky plus box!

    since last week we can't record anything or get into the recording menu. seems to be a sortware thing. Keeps saying please wait when you try to access what you've recorded. Anyone have this?

    uuumm sorry but sounds like hdd failure

    I take it you've switch it off, unplugged, waited 2 mins, then rebooted? that usually fixes most things. If you have the hard drive could have gone.

    you need to call sky and get them to send an engineer out prolly xx

    Have you had this new card that they are sending out to ppl,we didn't get 1 but think thats cos ours is HD box and it updated the guides etc by itself.

    we didnt get a new card yet either xx

    People sometimes sell them here and on eBay.

    You should call them ask if you should have had 1 of these new cards by now,i only heard bits and pieces about this new card that some Sky customers are receiving.

    hdd failure , had that same thing twice before new Hdd fixes it

    do you know off hand how easy that is to do? standard ide? sata? software need updating or anything or just plug and play?

    Call them up, tell them your prob.
    They will say "we can send out an engineer at a cost of £65" (Ithink) For a guaranteed fix.
    Your line then is "I dont want to pay that for your box going wrong, I'd like to cancel please"
    Then they will send someone free or at the very least 1/2 price.
    Done this 3 or 4 times over the years, works every time.
