    Help with Slooooow Web browsing........

I'm on O2 broadband, it's fab, all my downloads run at full speed, seems there'es no throttling, port blocking etc etc.

However my web browsers are always slow. Mozilla and IE can't put my finger on it.

I'm on Wi-fi on my Dell E520 (Cheers MikeT again) with a Netgear WG311V2 (the one that doesn't shut down properly). Wireless signal goes yellow sometimes (>50%) but download speeds are unaffected.

Even when full wireless signal still slow browsing. Used many wirewalls. Kaspersky, PC Cillin and now windows (with AVG Anti Virus). Is it something to do with port 80?

    Cheers

open a command prompt and type netstat /b that will tell you how many connections are active, where to and what program initiated them. some you dont recognise?, maybe spyware
could also be you are running into the throttling limit of concurrent tcp connections think its about 10 though can be altered google event id 4226

Have you cleared your browsers cache recently and what programs do you have running in the background (anti-virus etc)

No spyware, if i figure it out will keep you posted

Also try turning off your encryption temporarily as a test, perhaps lower your security level encryption takes a lot of resources
